Programs

Mothers Outreach Network has four programs for mothers to choose from:

Advocacy Program

Our movement lawyering advocacy seeks to empower communities. Through grassroots action and organizing, legal work, political education, and legislative and communications advocacy, Mother’s Outreach Network supports mothers, their families, and communities in building power. This power can be leveraged to eradicate systems that perpetuate poverty and racism and impede the construction of a solidarity economy. Our research, outreach, know-your-rights training, organizing, and legislative advocacy seek to realize social, economic, and political equality for Black and brown people, with a focus on mothers.

Community Mobilization

Legal Literacy and Civic Engagement

MON’s civics and legal information program is our flagship program. Implemented with our community partners, MON trains community members on their rights in the legal system and on the legislative process to empower them to fight for themselves and for their communities. Our strategies include the use of storytelling focused on Black history and Black women’s contributions to America’s civil rights and social justice movements.

Targeted Guaranteed Income Pilot: MotherUp

MotherUp is a guaranteed income pilot concept to put cash in the hands of struggling mothers as a critical tool to support them while they strive to preserve their families as they are caught in the web of the family regulation and foster system. We are currently fundraising to launch this pilot, and we welcome donations to this effort.
